Alameda Small Circle Jujitsu

Monday evening classes (7:30pm to 9:00pm)

Classes will not be held on:
Presidents day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor day, Christmas, and New Years

Saturday Monthly Class (First Saturday of the month, 10:00am to 11:30 am)

The Saturday Small Circle Jujitsu class is open to all levels of Small Circle Jujitsu, as related to knowledge and rank.

Next promotions will be held on the last Monday of April, August, and in December tba.

About:

Alameda Small Circle Jujitsu was formed by Professor Lee Eichelberger to honor his teacher, Professor Wally Jay, and to continue Professor Jay's teaching of Small Circle Jujitsu.

The class features Small Circle Jujitsu as created and founded by Professor Wally Jay. It will also include Kodenkan (Danzan Ryu) Jujitsu as well as related self-defense and basic related exercises.

New students may begin at any time. There are no problems blending into the class activities and working with new or experienced students. New students can learn the basics rapidly and enjoy working and learning with others.

Promotion and ranking for interested students will be available in either or both Small Circle Jujitsu and Kodenkan (Danzan Ryu) Jujitsu.

Alameda Small Circle Jujitsu is sponsored by Alameda HS Jujitsu Alumni, a non-profit corporation.

Persons interested in the class are most welcome to visit the class, ask questions and observe the activities This may be done any time the class is in session.

Fees:

Monday Classes
Annual Registration $25

Student monthly class fee, one night per week $40

For students who are unable to attend regularly, single class lessons are available for $15 each night.

Younger students (from 13 to 17 years of age) pay a monthly class fee of $30

Saturday Class Mat Fee
Registered members: $10 - Non-registered students: $15

All fees, Annual registration and class, are due in advance. Release Forms must be completed and approved prior to going on the mat.

Because we operate as a non-profit under Alameda HS Jujitsu Alumni, we are able to keep are fees low for the benefit of the students. This in our opinion no way effects the quality of instruction.

Optional - fees for Memberships and Promotions

Promotions can be achieved in both Small Circle Jujitsu and in Kodenkan Danzan Ryu Jujitsu depending on the interest of the student. Although a student may take the class without receiving promotions (at the student's option), promotions are encouraged to show advancement and knowledge of the martial arts

Annual membership in Small Circle Jujitsu (this is required to receive a Small Circle Jujitsu certificate and be recognized by Small Circle Jujitsu). Fee - $30

There is a fee for each certificate in Small Circle Jujitsu which varies depending on the rank achieved. There is a handout available.

Alameda Small Circle Jujitsu is a member of Alameda HS Jujitsu Alumni which is associated with the Amerian Jujitsu Institute in Hawaii Under the Alameda Judo/Jujitsu Club. The annual fee for the individual mermbership is $25 Kyu ranks & $40 Dan ranks. (Optional)

As with Small Circle Jujitsu, there is a fee for receiving a America Jujitsu Institute certificate which varies depending on the rank achieved.

Jujitsu / Judo Gi

Students may obtain a Judo Gi for working out in class by purchasing it on their own or at their option purchase the Gi from the club. We will try to arrange the fairest price that we can. Ask us if you're interested at any time.

Classes are held at 2055 Eagle Avenue, Alameda CA.
(Gym in rear through right side gate) from 7:30 to 9:00 pm.

From I-880 southbound
  1. Take Twenty-third Ave. exit (Alameda) turn off and follow the signs to the Park Street Bridge and into Alameda.
  2. Exit the Bridge, continue on Park St. to Buena Vista Ave.
  3. Turn right onto Buena Vista Ave. continue to Willow St.
  4. Turn right on Willow St.
  5. Turn left on Eagle Ave.
From I-880 northbound
  1. exit at High Street
  2. turn left under the freeway
  3. proceed across the High Street bridge, into Alameda
  4. turn right on Fernside Blvd
  5. Turn left on Tilden Way
  6. turn right onto Buena Vista Ave.
  7. turn right on Willow Streeet
  8. Turn left to 2055 Eagle Ave.

Parking may be more available on Willow St. as well as less disruptive to the local residents.
